(More customer reviews)September 26th was a date etched in my brain. I could not wait for the arrival of the "Scream Trilogy: Box Set" let me tell you, it was worth the wait. Besided being the most successful horror series EVER, (yes people, even better than all 27 Friday the 13ths) it's really smart. The dialogue, characters and plot twists are exceptional. Of course, being directed by the MASTER of horror and suspense, Wes Craven, made it even better. This set is absolutely perfect. Each of the Scream films, all in widescreen, with Dolby Digital surround sound, audio commentary and loads of extras. The Scream extras include: 3 Behind The Scenes featurettes, trailers, TV Spots, Q&A with the cast and crew, special effect gallery, film facts etc. Scream 2's extras include: outtakes, deleted scenes, Production Featurette, music videos, trailer, TV Spots etc. Finally, Scream 3's DVD includes: Outtakes, Deleted Scenes, Alternate Ending, Trailers, TV Spots, music video, Behind the Scenes of all three Scream films and so much more. Finally, we get a bonus DVD. This is my favorite one of the set. It includes a 35 minute documentary titled, "Behind the Scream" includes interviews with the cast and crew; Outtakes from Scream, Screen tests, Sunrise Studio trailers, the "Stab 2" trailer, and the cutting room, where you can make your own version of the opening scene of "Scream 3." The set also comes with a 24 page Behind the Scenes book. including pictures, photos, a tribute to the victims etc. The cover comes in two separate parts, which is really cool. All in all, everyone MUST own this set, it's PERFECT!!!

E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) Review

(More customer reviews)Let me explain something that I feel a lot of people are forgetting. This set doesn't only include the new version, but the old as well. That's a great deal, since you can choose which one you would like to see. If you hate the new effects and CGI, don't watch it. It's that simple.
Now don't get me wrong. I think the newer version is very silly, and I wonder if Spielberg really thought it looked good when he did it. Maybe if he were to do it in around 10 years, it wouldn't look so animated.
I did like the deleted bathroom scene though, even though it was done with CGI. It would have been nice to have seen that in the original, but I guess that would be having my cake and eating it too.
There is nothing flawed about this set, it simply just gives some options that not everyone will want to choose. If you enjoy the movie, you will enjoy this set. It's a classic that hasn't lost it's flavor after all these years.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008) Review

(More customer reviews)Being the chihuahua lover that I am, I was first in line at our local cinema to see this flick!
I loved it from begining to end, however it wanst exactly what I expected. From some of the previews it looked like there would be lots more chihuahuas in most of the film, but for the most part it is two chis (Chole and Papi) along with a German Shepard. Towards the end is about 5-7 mintues of films with LOTS of chihuahuas, include a bit of history about the breed, some pretty cool looking aztec ruins, and chis of every shape and color, including brindles, blue, chocolates, blacks, merles, spotted, fawn and even long coats!
Has great themes about finding your roots, not giving up on your true friends and helping others when they need it the most. Also, that no matter what your situtation is, there is a place where you belong.
I went with a friend from work (we are both adults) and we both loved it. We laughed and cried, and agreed we will see it again and buy it when it comes to video!
Also, kudos to Disney. At the end of this film there is a note about how each pets deserves a permenant loving home, and if you purchase a dog, to do research on the breed!

Far From Home (1989) Review

(More customer reviews)This movie does several things pretty well. First, Drew Barrymore's character is really well drawn. She's sensitive, consumed by her own emotions, and, well, horny. Unlike the teenagers in so much of today's cinema, Drew's character has a total lack of attitude, she's fueled by feelings, not cliches. This is all done in a subtle way, and that makes her very likable and sympathetic. Also, the "far from home" atmosphere is created nicely. You really do feel as if you're in the last place on earth, with all these oddball characters either trying to get out or else slowly losing their sanity from the isolation and desolation. These things contrast well and give the film a really uneasy feeling. The totally naive girls put in a dangerous place - but of course she doesn't know it's dangerous. It could so easily descend into melodrama, but it doesn't because of the skillfulness with which it is crafted. The other characters are also well done - everyone has a very definite personality and they all add together to create the atmosphere - exactly what you might expect to find in such a place, but of course you've never thought about it before because who would want to?
Overall, an effective film.
