(More customer reviews)Sabine Azema and Andre Dussolier are the parents of Tanguy (Eric Berger) 28 , a smart guy but gifted with extremely weak character and emotionally invalid ; an old fashioned nerd. He loves the asiatic culture , and he is preparing a thesis about sociological and philospical aspects concerned with China, but meanwhile, the heavy family atmosphere is unbearable ; that issue surrounds the affective and emotional links with their parents who desire he leaves his home, as soon as he can.
Watch this delightful movie; it's plenty of laughable moments; and depicts a new social phenomen in Europe.
Helen Duc as the grandmother is ravishing; Azema is unforgettable and she's one of the french icon actress today; Dussolier extraordinary as always, one of the ten top best french actors; together with Michael Serrault, Gerard Depardieu, Daniel Auteil, he plays the perfect balance as the good father who reached the allowed limit. The question is What would you do with your son if he was a genius boy who refuses to follow the nature rules of the life?
Watch this enjoyable comedy. Ten thousand stars for this film.

The Libertine (1969) Review

(More customer reviews)This is a surprisingly entertaining movie. It is almost quaint.
Catherine Spaak, one of the most beautiful actresses of the 1960's is at her most beautiful as a widow who discovers her late husnband had an apartment that he used for kinky sexual escapades. She then decides to use that apartment for similar purposes and to live a more carefree sexual lifestyle.
Movie is full of typical 1960's touches, from the art direction to the music. This is not, though, an explicit sex movie or even one of those late night Cinemax flicks. This is a fine, sexy, very entertaining movie.
The VHS version of this movie was missing several minutes of the more naughty scenes. Luckily they have been restored for the DVD version. The print quality of those scenes is not up to par, but it is still nice to see a complete version. The DVD also features some "Deleted Scenes" and some amazing 1960's trailers from the Audubon Collection. They are truly fun to watch.

(More customer reviews)Catherine (Fanny Ardant), a successful doctor, seems to be in a happy marriage with her businessman husband, Bernard (Gerard Depardieu), until she learns that Bernard is having an affair. She reacts to this news with some tears but seems otherwise unmoved. That same evening, she randomly strolls into a Gentlemans Club for a drink and happens to meet the beautiful stripper/prostitute, Marlene (Emmanuelle Béart), who seems very curious and interested in Catherine. After some conversation, Catherine decides to hire Marlene (whom she re-names "Nathalie") to seduce her husband and report their sexual activities back to Catherine. The sexual game between Nathalie, Catherine, and Bernard takes strange twists and turns, with each scene exposing more about each character...and how their relationship changes with one another, as well as within their own self. Excellent film, directed by Anne Fontaine, this DVD includes the French version film with English subtitles, a making-of documentary (with no subtitles), a photo gallery, and a trailer that includes one of the smashing songs from the movie.
