The Hole Review

This was not the product that was advertised. It was billed as a "witty, erotic spoof of the Japanese Ringu movies, from the director of the fluffer" I thought I was purchasing a comedy. It's nothing but soft-core porn. Don't get me wrong, the boys are hot but all the "good bits" have been cut out. If you like soft-core, this is a wonderful title. If you want to hurtle the remote at the screen when "good bits" are edited, run down the local XXX video store.

Gone But Not Forgotten (2004) Review

This is an excellent murder mystery/thriller that will keep you interested from start to finish. The cast is uniformly good and the script very well-written. Everything about it is way above average for a TV-movie. At first it seems as though it will be a standard courtroom drama, but after the set-up it goes in an entirely different direction and keeps you guessing the whole time. Watching this movie is like curling up with a good book on a dark and stormy night. I recommend it highly.

The Crossing (2000) Review

This is a wonderfully done made-for-cable movie about George Washington and his famous victory at the Battle of Trenton in the winter of 1776. Starring Jeff Daniels as General Washington, this film brings an important episode in American history vividly to life. We see the broken remnants of the Continental army as it races to avoid capture following their defeats in New York. The British, close on the heels of the retreating rebels, have written the Americans off as being on the verge of total surrender. Washington, tired and beaten, realizes that he must make one last attempt to achieve victory or all hope for the revolution will be lost. Against the judgement of his officers, Washington prepares to launch a desperate offensive against a large force of Hessian troops occupying the town of Trenton, just across the Delaware River in New Jersey. The future of the new United States hangs in the balance as the rag-tag army bets all or nothing on this dangerous gamble. Well written and with money well-spent, The Crossing is a dramatic telling of this important moment in American history, and one that I would recommend to teachers, students, and history enthusiasts alike.

The Last Samurai (Full Screen Edition) (2003) Review

As a Japanese living in the United Staes, I can say totally, that this film is amazing. There're some critics says Tom Cruise's acting and so on, however, this film sucessfully depicts the history of Japan, and people's traditional lives and the end of samurai era.
This is a spectacular movie with sweeping sword actions and it is based on the true history events in japan, I've seen a lot of samurai movies(made in japan for japanese) but i can say this one is GREAT as the other movies, plus this is not usual hollywood movies that awfully depicts samurais and even Yakuzas and brush off the truth.
I can say, however, without Tom Cruise, this movie could have also been great as well. But i would guess that it is because of him, this movie gained more attention among people and so typical americans can get the idea of what samurai really is and what they really think.
so overall i gave this movie 5 stars. I plan to go watch it again.

Epic Action Drama. Set in Japan during the 1870s, The Last Samurai tells the story of Capt. Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise), a respected American military officer hired by the Emperor of Japan to train the country's first army in the art of modern warfare. As the Emperor attempts to eradicate the ancient Imperial Samurai warriors in preparation for more Westernized and trade-friendly government policies, Algren finds himself unexpectedly impressed and influenced by his encounters with the Samurai, which places him at the center of a struggle between two eras and two worlds, with only his own sense of honor to guide him.DVD Features:Audio Commentary:Commentary by Edward ZwickDVD ROM FeaturesDeleted Scenes:The Beheading (Behind the Beheading) Algren and Katsumoto Documentaries:History vs. Hollywood: The Last Samurai {History Channel Documentary)Featurette:Tom Cruise: A Warrior's Journey Edward Zwick: Director's Video Journal {Behind-the-scenes production journal - narrated by Ed Zwick and Tom Cruise A World of Detail: Production Design with Lilly Kilvert Silk and Armor: Costume Design with Ngila Dickson Imperial Army Basic Training: From Soldier to Samurai: The Weapons Interviews:Making an Epic: A Conversation with Edward ZwickOther:Japan Premieres {Tokyo & Kyoto red carpet)

This show has been the favorite at our house. Thanks to a favorite celebrity being in season 7 and giving us the scoop on this series. We did mini marathons for each season. It's so much better a comedy than anything I've seen. We don't get any Canadian TV where I am. Thank heavens for DVD's!
I own a pair of Ricky pants!! ha! who knew!
