I think Ed Wood spent more money on Plan 9 From Outer Space. Probably the most expensive part of this movie was the flight to Tokyo.
I absolutely hate the herky-jerky camera and I wasn't kidding about the title of this review as it really did give me a headache. After the first few minutes, I kept wondering when they'd go to a regular steady camera, but it never happened. The next thing I know, a half hour went by and by then I just didn't have the energy to get up and hit the eject button. It was like driving by a car wreck where you just can't stop looking. As I sat there, I kept hoping something would happen to redeem the awful acting and story movement, but it stayed consistently annoying to the end.
The icky bug is almost non-existent. You hear a little roar once in a while, and see the odd octopus arm flash in the background. The art on the DVD box is highly misleading as you NEVER see the monster in as much detail as in that painting.
I can't give it no stars because the rating system would not allow it. I would have given it one star for originality, but wait... Blair Witch???
Save your money and your time. Oh, and one other thing... if you liked this type of hand-held filming, you'll love Cloverfield. I'll pass.

I knew when I bought this movie what type of movie I was getting. Sorry to say it was horribly shot. Most of the scenes were shot at a 45 degree angle so the actress was angled across your screen. It was impossible to enjoy. Buy at your own risk it was not worth the time it took to fast forward through.

Sex at 24 Frames per Second (2003) Review

Sex at 24 Frames per Second (2003)

Considering some of the reviews provided for this film, one would think that it is just some type of rip-off. I found the film to be very interesting and informative. It hits all the right tones in dealing with the Hollywood's love/hate relationship with sex within the context of film. Starting with "Ectasy" and discussing changes, sometimes radical, the film investigates the role of sex within film juxtaposed against the contemporary mores of different eras. Yes, there are quite a deal of interviews as well as a huge number of clips demonstrating the particular points made by the interviewees. Hugh Hefner, Sharon Stone, Ang Lee, Jane Russell, all make appearances discussing the energy and forces which account for the use of sex and nudity in movies. While this film is not a Ken Burns epic the viewer will certainly come away from the expeirence with a better understanding of the art form which has attempted throughout the years to portray sex, and all its deviations, as the most vexing of all human desires and needs. Recommended highly.
