As a producer on this film, I have a unique perspective. I knew the script, I saw the film being shot, and I watched pieces of the editing process. However, it wasn't until we screened the film for an audience that I really got a feeling for the film. The script read like a murder mystery, but as the film played out on screen - there were a number of scenes where the audience ended up laughing. That's when I realized that although meant to be a murder/mystery type of film, it comes across more like a black comedy.
There are some great one liners in the film. 1) Where were you yesterday morning? Wait a minute, it's coming back to me now....I was in bed....with your mother. 2) I've been doing this long enough, that I can smell a murderer, and Mr....You Stink! 3) Sorry? I think we're a little late for sorry! - look at her, she's dead!
When I watch the film in it's entirety, I'm reminded of other black comedy films, such as "The Ice Harvest" with John Cusack and "Fargo".
Give it a try, and all of us at Winter Morning Pictures hope that you enjoy it!
Mike Hamilton

Trapped is the story of a high-stakes business swindle that involves financial deviousness, emotional blackmail, sexual deception, psychological coercion, fraud, forgery, extortion, intimidation, and ultimately murder. As friends and family celebrate the successful career of Edward Roth Hutton (Corbin Bernsen), and the closing of a very important business contract for Hutton Industries, we learn that far from being his loyal senior partner, Tighe `Ty` MacArthur (Tony Bingham) is not only sleeping with Hutton's wife, Margot Schugart Hutton (Dana Hardy), but is also conspiring with Margot and a shadowy compatriot, Liam (Jeff Carpenter), to murder his boss and mentor, Hutton.

Pirates Review

Pirates
Average Reviews:

This movie has been with me for about 10 years. It grew on me quickly and it has become one of those movies I watch again and again, usually about once a month. First of all, Jean Claude Van Damme is not in this movie, contrary to what you may read in the reviews (I just love that careful attention to detail from most reviewers). However, the people that *are* in the film do a fine job, particularly Walter Matthau who in my opinion is a very, very believable pirate. What is so interesting to me about this movie is that it is one of the few films where you legitimately feel as though you are just peeking in at a tiny episode in the lives of the characters. The film, in fact, ends exactly where it begins, and you are left with a sense that you've seen only one miniscule adventure in the lives of these pirates, who have had and are yet to have countless more. I would have to say that if you are even remotely interested in this era of our history, watch this movie. It is not the epic that "Cutthroat Island" tried to be (and failed at), but rather it is the somewhat comical and adventurous story of Captain Red trying to get his gold, at any cost whatsoever. I hope they eventually put this out on DVD, but I won't hold my breath.

Jem: The Movie Review

Jem: The Movie
Average Reviews:

This dvd is a very good option for those collectors who wants to owns all jem's merchandise possible, and is an excellent alternative for those people that could not buy the Rhino dvd's (which are already out of print since 2005),Jem the movie was released originally by 1986 for VHS format and as the seller explains is a compilation of the 5 first episodes:
1- THE BEGINNING
2- DISASTER (AKA SETBACKS)
3- KIMBER'S REBELLION
4- FRAME UP
5- THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS
Originally jem was a 15 minutes part of Super saturday (Along with Robotix and Big Foot and the monster machines), Sunbow started to launch those fabulous cartoons like GIJOE with the purpose to sell the action figures and the dolls in this case..after some weeks the soap operah was a success and Christy Marx started to create the full episodes show brodacasted on tv.
There's some little differences between the full episodes and the movie by example the music clips are shorter and usually shows parts from another ones /// also you'll find some extra scenes that were cutted off or edited to be released on tv...and there some extra sound effects added for this version but in general still capturing the same idea: Jem and the holograms are always on top of the charts and the Misfits are basicly "out of the way", the movie ends with episode number 5: Battle of the bands excatly at the moment that the holograms win but you wont see details..like when Howard Sanz award em with the movie contract and the Starlight mansion ..but anyways, still being fair enough , i just hope Sony release the second part of the third season ..when Hollywood Jem and THE STINGERS hits the town..!!!!

I've gotten the other Sing Along Videos in Spanish and this is by far the best one. It is simply awesome! Weather you get it for youngsters that are learning Spanish as a second language or those that already master Spanish...it is simply the best.
ADVISORY NOTE: IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN UNDER 3 OR 4 BE AWARE THAT THERE IS A PIRATE SONG WITH THE VIDEO THAT MAY BE A BIT SCARY TO SOME CHILDREN.
BE AWARE AND PREVIEW WITHOUT THEM IF POSSIBLE. MY SON WHEN HE WAS 2 WAS VERY SCARED WHEN HE WATCHED THAT PARTICULAR SONG VIDEO BUT NOW
THAT HE IS 3-1/2 HE LOVES THE ENTIRE VIDEO. MY FIRST-BORN SON NEVER HAD A PROBLEM AT ANY AGE AND NEITHER DID MY DAUGHTER. EVERY CHILD
IS DIFFERENT! ENJOY!!! LAUGH AND SING AND DANCE WITH YOUR CHILDREN; THEY WILL REMEMBER FOR A LIFETIME!!!

Ninja Vixens, Vol. 6 - Forbidden Paradise Review

Ninja Vixens, Vol. 6 - Forbidden Paradise
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Anyone expecting a great viewing experience from a movie with a title like "Ninja Vixens, Vol. 6 - Forbidden Paradise" really needs to examine their expectations. Take a look at the cover. That is what you are going to get.

In the long tradition of the Japanese "pink" film, this is the latest versions of the sexy fighting girl theme, women who seem to do far more bathing than combat, and know that a ninja's best weapon isn't necessarily her throwing stars. The only thing that really matters in a flick like this is the hope that the story isn't too bad, and that the chicks are hot.
Well rest assured. The story isn't too bad, and the chicks are hot. "Ninja Vixens" is actually a somewhat long-running series. I have only seen this one, but that didn't really matter. There isn't much by way of story continuity. This one tells the tale of woe of two ninja vixen sisters who rescue a handsome young samurai on the run. Well, there can be only one conclusion when two sisters fall in love with the same guy in a "Ninja Vixen" series, and it isn't fighting. Unfortunately, the demon hag Ogen shows up, and the gals have to take a break from their bathing to earn the ninja vixen name.
The ninja vixen trio is made up of Misaki Kanda, Mizuho Enomoto and Yuki Matsuda. Don't look for their prior acting experience, because that isn't why they were hired. Former race queens and models, they are all nicely pretty and bouncy in the right places, and emote only as a girl in a pink film should.
As a pink film, the nudity is all strictly T&A, and the sex scenes are all highly simulated. The "Ninja Vixens" series has more in common with the genre of 80's sex comedies, like Ski School and H.O.T.S., than rough Japanese flicks like Wife to Be Sacrificed and Flower & Snake. Take a look at the costumes, which are straight out of a bad 80's music video, and it will give you an idea of what to expect!

Foolin' Around (1980) Review

Foolin' Around (1980)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This 1979 movie, "Foolin' Around", is definitely a feel-good romantic comedy, and it's got a lot going for it. This is certainly not the most realistic movie you're ever going to see--often, it's downright outrageous in a very cartoonish sort of way--but it's often hilarious, and also, it has its moments of smile-inducing tenderness. The pairing of Gary Busey and Annette O'Toole is uncanny--both of them are undeniably charming and they deliver uniquely down-to-earth performances. Eddie Albert also does a great job as the veteran president of a construction company and has a wonderfully dramatic and surprisingly suspenseful 'coming-of-age'-type scene with Busey 50 stories up. With its blend of poignancy and over-the-top humor, "Foolin' Around" makes for a highly entertaining movie that's a pleasure to see. Also of note, Seals & Crofts contribute 2 tunes to the soundtrack which I'm quite sure were both written specifically for the movie (they aren't on any S & C album): the solid, easy-going, country-flavored title track (which sounds a lot like the Eagles' "Peaceful Easy Feeling"); and the decent ballad "These Moments Never Live Again".

American Pie 2/Beneath the Crust Vol. 2 (Unrated/Full Screen) (2001) Review

American Pie 2/Beneath the Crust Vol. 2 (Unrated/Full Screen) (2001)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a great DVD set. It features both classic American Pie movies, widescreen, special editions. Also, they're both Unrated. I should tell you now, if you haven't seen the movies, this review contains some spoilers.
For the first movie, the Unrated and R-Rated versions have so little difference that if you've only seen it once, you probably wouldn't notice. The only difference that stands out is the famous pie scene. I feel, however, the original one was funnier. The cover promises "more pie," while what we see is a different version of pie. There are five seconds of extra Nadia scenes in which she.... uh... pleasures herself. There is more moaning during the Vicky/Kevin scene. The..... stuff... in the beer is clearer (I honestly didn't notice). That's basically it. No, wait! There's a few more pages to the "sex bible."
Doesn't sound like much, does it? Well, it isn't. But, the Unrated version of part two more than makes up for it. There are at least fifteen, repeat: FIFTEEN differences in this. These even include whole new scenes! Part one only had about 10 seconds of extra footage. This one has six minutes. And all the added scenes are really funny! There is a very special one featuring Jim and his dad in the hospital. Also, a bit more in the "lesbian" scene. Stifler boots some kids out of his house, and criticizes (sp?) Oz's choice of girlfriend. There's tons more, but I think I missed some. Believe me, this Unrated one is great!
So, anyway, both are Unrated in this excellent box-set. I don't mind #1 being like that. If I bought them separate, I'd probably just get the Unrated. It has better cover art. But, the one for part two is awesome, and is the only one that should be watched. This is a great set. They're both Collector's Editions. I don't care. The "Ultimate Edition" of part 1 is ridiculous. There's almost nothing new, except some deleted scenes and a full-screen version, and nobody should watch full-screen stuff.
Buy this great set. It's worthy, and you'll watch them over and over again!

Captain America (1990) Review

Captain America (1990)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I always liked this movie. It was Marvel's answer to Tim Burton's big budget Batman. Although it received a European release, it was shelved in the U.S. until 1992. I thought it was a good low budget attempt to bring the Joe Simon-Jack Kirby comic book character to life. I can remember seeing the movie poster for it at the theater and being excited, "Captain America: Coming in 1990". This movie has a great cast: Matt Salinger, Scott Paulin, Ronny Cox, Ned Beatty, Darren McGavin, Carla Cassola, Melinda Dillion, Michael Nouri, Kim Gillingham Francesca Neri and Billy Mumy. It was directed by Albert Pyun.
In Italy during WW2, Dr. Maria Vaseli (Carla Cassola) creates a process which transforms child musical prodigy Tadzio de Santis into the hideously scarred 'Red Skull' (Scott Paulin) for the Nazis. Dr. Vaseli escapes to America where she perfects the process and helps the American Military transform Polio-ridden Steve Rogers into the Star Spangled Avenger 'Captain America' (Matt Salinger). Aided by two Resistance Fighters (Scene deleted), Captain America to a hidden Nazi Fortress, Captain America encounters his nemesis, the Red Skull, where he is defeated and strapped to a rocket that the Nazis are planning to launch launch at the White House to kill President Roosevelt. Cap heroically manages to stop the rocket from crashing into the White House; but it crashes in the Alaskan Tundra where he is frozen for the next 50 years.
While Captain America is frozen, the Red Skull and plots and successfully carries out the deaths of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King with the help of a group of international businessmen and General Fleming (Mumy/McGavin). Now, they are planning on kidnapping President Kimball (Cox) and controlling his mind to do their evil bidding. Luckily for the Red, White and Blue, Cap is accidently found by an Alaskan Surveying Team and thawed out where upon he tried to return home and while he finds that things have drastically changed; Captain America is torn between duty and the love of his former girlfriend, Bernice (Gillingham). Sharon, Bernice's daughter (also played by Gillingham) try to stop these evil conspirators.
Music was provided by Southside Johnny, Barry Goldberg and one of the Neville Brothers. It's theme song "Home of the Brave" is very moving.

Love at First Kill Review

Love at First Kill
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Filmed in 2007 and originally titled THE BOX COLLECTOR, this noirish thriller has echoes of PSYCHO and other loony mother movies, though inferior in quality.
margot Kidder employs the overwrought style of Davis or Crawford--without panache. She's more like Rod Steiger, gleefully chomping up the scenery.
The story is incoherent with superfluous subplots and a twist ending that does little to explain all you've witnessed beforehand,
It managed to hold my interest in spite of this incoherency, so it's not a total failure.
More a rental than a keeper.

The Girl Next Door (1999) Review

The Girl Next Door (1999)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This movie is predictable right from the start and really stupid in places. The plot is simple enough, middle aged man with pregnant wife becomes infatuated with neighbors' 18 year old daughter. The man has a very brief affair with the girl after which she turns up dead and the man is now a prime suspect. What is stupid about the whole mess is the fact that nobody seems to be suspicious of the girl's boyfriend, someone who had been stalking her before the affair, everyone is more suspicious about the girl's new mysterious lover. To make the entire mess even more unbelievable, the girl took a video of the single night of passion that she had with her neighbour and he now has to get his hands on it.
The movie is also listed as an "Erotic Thriller". Well, there is very little erotic about the movie at all, in fact there are only two semi-sexy scenes in the movie. The first features the girl taking a skinny dip in the pool and the second is the girl and man having sex for the first and only time. Both times the scene is shot in darkness and you cannot see anything worthwhile to suggest any real nudity or eroticism.
The DVD is also very bare bones. There is very little extra on it. My advice, avoid this movie at all cost and instead consider one (or all) of the Poison Ivy movies.

John Wayne: Legend Of a Cowboy 20 Movie Pack Review

John Wayne: Legend Of a Cowboy 20 Movie Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The JOHN WAYNE: LEGEND OF A COWBOY box set consists primarily of widely available hour-length Wayne westerns from the 1930s. The distinguishing feature of this five double-side recorded DVD collection however are the 32 film trailers sprinkled throughout the set.
BRENTWOOD 20 movie packs are fairly thick in size because of their design-- the all-plastic box has a middle leaf added to store two of the discs on. This leaf is attached to the box spine by small tabs which may pull away from the main case if not handled carefully. Reassembling the separate pieces can present a challenge best avoided.

If you're a fan of 1930s westerns and would like to add some unusual lesser-known titles to your library, WESTERN LEGENDS 50 Movie Pack from MILL CREEK ENTERTAINMENT is exactly what you're looking for!

Charles Bronson: Cabo Blanco/U.S. Marshal Review

Charles Bronson: Cabo Blanco/U.S. Marshal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
"Cabo Blanco" is must-have DVD for true Bronson fans--and not the least reason is because you actually get to see the man act. But the most surprising thing about this Laserlight DVD is that the transfer, picture and sound, is actually quite good. And, unlike most budget dvds of contemporary films, this one is presented in widescreen. I know another reviewer mentioned that the film was originally shot in 'scope ("scope" is a term for generic Cinemascope techniques) but the aspect ratio here seems to be the correct one--no panning or scanning, and no actors cut in half on either side of the screen.
Now, it's certainly not a "restored" version of this obscure film, but they did find a very nice print which only shows wear at the reel-change spots.
And, as a bonus, you get to see a very young Bronson in an episode of the 1950s drama series "U.S. Marshall."
This is one of the few budget dvds of a public domain Bronson film that's actually worth buying.

Harriet the Spy (1996) Review

Harriet the Spy (1996)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Harriet M. Welsch (Michelle Trachtenberg) is an 11-year-old-spy who dreams of being a writer. She explains her obsession with writing by saying: "I want to remember everything, I want to know everything."
In her PRIVATE notebook, she writes down her secret thoughts. Sometimes her comments are all too honest and not that nice. Harriet doesn't yet understand the power of words, but soon she learns, when all her friends become her worst enemies.
Rosie O'Donnell plays the perfect nanny. Her advice to Harriet is that while she might want to know everything, it won't do her a bit of good unless she uses her knowledge to put beauty into the world.
Harriet goes through a great learning experience where she finally realizes she should participate more in life and learns to let go of her writing obsession in order to embrace life. After all, true friends are what makes life wonderful and worth living.
This is a funky, modern story that teaches a wonderful lesson. It is about learning to forgive and being vulnerable enough to be able to say you are sorry.
A great lesson for all ages!

While the blurb sounded good, unfortunately Clone did not live up to its promise.
While the acting was ok, there were a couple of flaws in the script and the movie was very slow going in quite a few places.
The only bright light in the movie was the ending, which unfortunately made all of the previous 98% completely useless and a waste of the viewer's time.
Spend your money on a better movie.
